LAX shooting trial postponed

The trial of a man accused of killing a Transportation Security Administration agent during a shooting at the Los Angeles International Airport last fall is being postponed by a federal judge, Reuters reports.

U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez agreed to a request for the delay from prosecutors to allow them to have more time to consider seeking the death penalty against Paul Anthony Ciancia, according to the report.

{mosads}Ciancia is being charged with killing TSA agent Gerardo Hernandez in the November 2013 shooting that resulted in the first on-the-job death of a TSA employee since the agency was created in 2002.

Ciancia is being charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder of federal officers, according to the report.

The alleged LAX shooter is also charged with four counts of committing an act of violence at an international airport and gun charges.
