Airports bet on Super Bowl

Airports in Denver and Seattle are betting — and engaging in a friendly Twitter battle — about the outcome of Sunday’s NFL Super Bowl.

It all started when the Denver International Airport challenged the Seattle–Tacoma International Airport to a bet where the losing city’s airport had to fly a flag in its terminal with the winning team’s colors.

“Game on! @SeaTacAirport Loser of #SB48 must fly the flag of opposing team in public for 24 hrs #OrangeWillLookGreatAtSeaTac,” the Denver airport tweeted.

{mosads}The Seattle airport quickly responded that it accepted the wager.

“Game on @DENAirport Loser of #SB48 must fly the flag of opposing team in public for 24 hrs #BlueWillLookGreatAtDIA,” the Seattle airport tweeted with a picture of a Seattle Seahawks themed lounge inside its facility.

The Denver airport shot back with a picture pointing out that both its quarterback and air traffic control tower are taller than Seattle’s.

“Hey Sea-Tac…the Mile High City’s FAA tower is 327 feet tall and Peyton Manning is 6-5. Seattle’s tower is just 233 feet and Russell Wilson is just 5-11. Coincidence?” the picture said.
