5K more flights canceled as snow moves north
Airlines have canceled 5,135 flights as the snowstorm that struck the Southeast United States moved north on Thursday, according to the website FlightAware.com.
Most of the cancellations were at major airline hubs like Atlanta, Newark, Philadelphia, Charlotte and Washington, D.C.’s Reagan National Airport.
{mosads}Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson and Philadelphia International Airport led the way with 428 and 400 inbound flights canceled, respectively, according to the website.
FlightAware reported that another 2,607 flights that were scheduled for Thursday have been delayed.
The website said that 13,527 flights have been delayed for the week and another 66,295 have been delayed.
