Passenger leaves sexist note for Canadian airline pilot

A passenger on a Canadian airline flight left a sexist note for a female pilot, according to multiple media reports.

The passenger took issue with the fact that the pilot of his WestJet Airlines flight was a woman.

“The cockpit of airlier [sic] is no place for a woman,” the passenger wrote on a napkin he left on his assigned seat when he was exiting the airplane.

“A woman being a mother is the most honor not as ‘captain’ Proverbs 31 (Sorry not P.C.),” the note continued. “P.S. I wish WestJet could tell me a fair lady is at the helm so I can book another flight! Were [sic] short mothers not pilots WestJet.”

{mosads}The WestJet Pilot in question, Carey Steacy, posted a picture of the napkin on Facebook, though the post has since been deleted according to a report in the Toronto Sun.

“I have heard many comments from people throughout my 17 year career as a pilot. Most of them positive,” Steacy wrote according to the paper.

“Your note is, without a doubt, the funniest. … You were more than welcome to deplane when you heard I was a ‘fair lady,’ ” Steacy’s since-deleted note continued. “We all, us humans, have the same rights in this great free country of ours. Now, back to my most important role, being a mother.”

WestJet said in a statement it is “enormously proud of the professionalism, skills and expertise of our pilots and we are disappointed by this note.”
