Last words from missing plane: ‘All right, good night’

The last words that were recorded from the pilots of a Malyasia Airlines flight that has been missing since Friday were “all right, good night” according to a report from The Associated Press.

The words were captured by air traffic controllers in Malyasia as they were transferring responsibility for the plane to Vietnamese officials.

Vietnamese aviation officials have said they never heard anything from the Malyasia Air flight, which was traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, China, according to the report.

The search for the missing Malaysia Air was entering its fifth day on Wednesday, but few leads have emerged thus far about the airplane’s whereabouts.

Officials have said that the missing airplane, which was Malaysia Air’s Flight 370, was carrying 239 passengers and crewmembers at the time of its disappearance.

U.S. State Department officials have confirmed that at least of three passengers who were on board the missing airplane were Americans.

The missing plane was last seen by air traffic controllers about an hour into its flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, when it was flying over the Gulf of Thailand.

A flight tracking website, FlightRadar24.com, has said that it tracked the airplane, which was a Boeing 777, about 100 miles off course over the Straits of Malacca.

The possibility that the airplane reversed course and flew off track has stoked speculation that the flight may have been hijacked or experienced issues with its power systems.
