A pornographic tweet that was sent from the US Airways’ was an “honest mistake,” the New York Daily News reports an official said with the company said this week.

US Air has come under fire for including a picture of a naked woman using a model airplane as a sex toy in a tweet that was sent to a passenger who was complaining about flights on Monday.

The airline quickly deleted the tweet and followed it up with a subsequent message apologizing for sending out the inappropriate image.

{mosads}US Air Matt Miller told the Daily News that the employee who sent the errant tweet would not be fired.

“It was an honest mistake,” Miller said. “It was in an attempt to flag the tweet as inappropriate.”

Miller said the US Air social media employee, who has not yet been named, was attempting to report the pornographic image to Twitter officials when it was accidentally sent from the company’s account.

“We captured it, flagged it as inappropriate,” he said.

“Unfortunately, the image was included” in the US Air reply to the complaining customer, Miller said.

US Air is the process of merging with American Airlines. The combined company will eventually operate under the American Air name.

US Air has not sent out any tweets since it issued the apology for the sexual image on Monday afternoon.
