Palin endorses Rep. Sandy Adams in GOP primary race against Rep. John Mica
{mosads}”Unlike her opponent, Sandy is free from the shackles of lobbyists and backdoor dealings in Washington,” Palin continued. “As someone who served in the military and a career law enforcement officer, Sandy doesn’t have time or the patience for the business-as-usual ways of Washington.”
Echoing a frequent criticism from Adams’s campaign about Mica’s role in the recent passage of a $105 billion transportation bill, Palin said, “[W]ashington insiders on both sides of the aisle have spent this country into massive debt and put our children’s future at risk.
“Let’s start to restore power to the people,” she said. “Please join me in supporting Sandy Adams today.”
Adams said Thursday that she was thrilled to have Palin’s endorsement.
“Gov. Sarah Palin has led the charge for conservatives,” Adams said in a statement released by her campaign. “She knows that the true power of our country comes from the American people — not the Washington establishment or special interest groups. Gov. Palin knows our nation is drowning in debt and the only way for our country to survive is to send true fiscal conservatives to Washington, D.C.”
A spokeswoman for Adams said her campaign was Palin’s first House endorsement.
Adams and Mica are scheduled to face off in an Aug. 14 primary in Florida.
