A California man has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for pointing a laser at an airplane.

Backers of a proposed high-speed railway in California that has received $3 million from the Obama administration are reportedly unhappy with compromises planners made to win approval.

Airline capacity was at its highest level since 1945, according to the trade group for the industry.
