Lawmakers search for lessons from Boeing ‘Dreamliner’ grounding

{mosads}The committee will hear testimony from the chief engineer of Boeing’s 787, Mike Sinnett, and the FAA’s Associate Administrator for Aviation Safety Peggy Gilligan.

Since the FAA cleared Boeing’s plans for redesigning the 787’s batteries, airlines have gradually resumed flying the plane.

The company said last month that the three-month ground stop did not affect demand for 787s, pointing to airline orders for airplanes this year.
