Report: Asiana crash survivors sue Boeing

{mosads}The law firm told the newspaper it was filing the lawsuit based on information that has been released by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) that appears to show there was a “mechanical malfunction of the auto-throttle” of the Asiana Boeing 777 airplane at the time of the crash.

The NTSB hinted in its initial statements about the Asiana crash last week that pilot error also played a role in the crash, which resulted in the deaths of three passengers and more than 180 other injuries.

The agency said the plane was flying too slowly as it attempted to land at San Francisco International Airport, and it also revealed that the pilots discussed aborting the landing attempting and trying another approach.

The airplane was carrying more than 300 passengers and crew members at the time of its crash, which occurred at the conclusion of a 10-hour flight from Seoul, South Korea to San Francisco.

The law firm that is representing the surviving passengers said in its statement to the Times that it is also considering filing a lawsuit against at Asiana Airlines. 

A spokesperson for Boeing declined comment.
