Report: Asiana crash victim killed by emergency vehicle
A teenager who died in the crash of an Asiana Airlines airplane earlier this month was killed after being struck by an emergency vehicle, according to officials.
The plane crash victim’s cause of death was confirmed on Friday by the San Mateo County coroner, according to a report from The Associated Press.
Federal investigators had said they would wait until the Asiana passenger’s cause of death was officially confirmed before they commented.
{mosads}The girl was reportedly killed after being struck on the runway of the San Francisco International Airport as emergency vehicles raced to the scene of the July 6 plane crash.
Asiana’s Flight 214 was carrying more than 300 passengers and crew members when it crash-landed on July 6. The accident occurred at the conclusion of a 10-hour flight from Seoul, South Korea to San Francisco.
Two other passengers were killed in the accident, and more than 180 others were injured.
