US Air-American Airlines merger trial set for Nov. 25

{mosads}The airlines have expressed confidence in their ability to win a trial over their proposed merger, and they had requested an early trial date to minimize the interruption in their merger planning.

The union that represents US Airways’s flight attendants, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), cheered the judge’s decision to hold the merger trial before the end of the year.

“Our union supported the motion for a November trial date because both US Airways and American Airlines front line workers deserve to know what our future holds,” AFA US Airways President Roger Holmin said in a statement. “We applaud today’s court decision for a November 25 trial start date and we are optimistic that the judge will agree that the benefits of this merger, for both workers and consumers alike, will help to create a stronger aviation system.”
