DC Metro could reduce capacity if government shuts down
{mosads}The agency said it will not shut down completely, however, because it is not a part of the federal government.
“Metro is not a federal entity and would remain open during any government shutdown,” WMATA said. “Trains and buses will operate on regular schedules, and the system will open and close at regular times.”
WMATA and other D.C. entities are bracing for a shutdown of the federal government that appears likely because lawmakers in Congress have not yet reached an agreement on a continuation of funding beyond Oct. 1.
The current funding for the government is scheduled to expire at midnight on Monday.
