Plane skids off runway at New Jersey airport, halting flights
Flights were temporarily halted Saturday after a plane skidded off the runway at Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, N.J.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said United Airlines Flight 627 from Denver skidded off the left side of the runway after its left main landing gear got stuck in a grassy area.

The airport said the passengers were safely deplaned and the aircraft was towed off the airfield. No injuries were reported.
The airport was temporarily shut down. Flight activity resumed, but delays are expected throughout the day.

The FAA said it is sending agents to the scene to investigate.
