Delta flight slips off runway at NC airport, no injuries reported
No injuries were reported after a Delta Air Lines flight slipped off the runway of a North Carolina airport on Friday.
Raleigh-Durham International Airport tweeted Friday that its airfield closed after a Delta flight rolled into the mud while taxiing after it made a safe landing.
The Delta spokesperson noted that the nose gear of the plane left the runway after it landed at the airport, though it was not clear what had prompted the complication to occur. The flight, which was operated by Endeavor Air, was carrying 13 people.
“Runway 5L/23R will remain closed until the aircraft is safely towed. Runway 5R/23L will continue to operate as weather conditions permit. We will post an update when the runway reopens. Travelers should check with their airline for latest flight status before coming to RDU,” the airport said in a later update.
The airlines apologized to passengers for the inconvenience following the incident.
