Craiglist’s research director Peter Freedman said that Vienna’s proximity to both George Mason University and the federal agencies like the CIA may have played a role in its passengers’ use of the website to find love.
He also acknowledged it may have been more simple than that.
“Maybe it’s the name ‘Vienna,’ ” Freedman said Monday in a statement. “It conjures images of attending the Imperial Ball — the swirling gowns, Strauss filling the night air and your whispering, ‘Save the waltz for me.’ ”
As for Chicago, Freedman just said “There must be something in the air in the Chicago subway system.
“And it’s turning the Windy City into the Flirty City,” he concluded.
