Obama renominates NTSB chairwoman

{mosads}Hersman was one of several people Obama announced Tuesday evening he intended to appoint. She was joined by Thomas Krajeski as ambassador to Bahrain, Robert Mandell ambassador to Luxembourg and Hal Simpson as the U.S. representative on the Rio Grande Compact Commission.

Obama said Tuesday evening that they were all qualified for their positions.

“These men and women have demonstrated knowledge and dedication throughout their careers,” he said in a statement released by the White House. “I am grateful they have chosen to take on these important roles, and I look forward to working with them in the months and years to come.”

Hersman’s nomination, as well as that of the ambassadors, will have to be approved by the Senate.
