New regs for Wednesday: Honey, HUD, NASA
Wednesday’s edition of the Federal Register contains new rules for environmental reviews of HUD homes, fishing ships carrying petroleum, new standards for honey and ethics standards for NASA interns.
Here’s what is happening:
HUD: The Department of Housing and Urban Development is moving forward with changes to its environmental regulations.
The changes include new recordkeeping requirements of environmental reviews.

Ships: The Coast Guard is considering new rules for fishing vessels carrying petroleum and other flammable or combustible liquid cargoes.
The public has 90 days to comment on the proposed rules.
Ethics: The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is moving forward with new ethics standards for NASA employees.
NASA interns will now be required to get approval before working simultaneously in a separate job for an agency contractor.
The rules go into effect immediately.
Honey: The U.S. Department of Agriculture is considering new standards for honey, the agency announced Tuesday.
The public has 30 days to comment.
Chilled water: The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is correcting mistakes it made in possible new safety standards for chilled water, which is used to cool equipment at nuclear facilities.
The changes go into effect immediately.
Job loss: The Merit Systems Protection Board is correcting mistakes made in a new rule for senior employees of the Department of Veteran Affairs who appeal their firings.
