Group airs Halloween ad pushing Trump to fire ‘zombie regulators’
A conservative nonprofit ran a Halloween-themed TV ad on Monday urging President Trump to fire two Obama-era holdovers it dubbed the “zombie regulators.”
The ad from Americans for Limited Government says it’s time that Trump showed the door to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Cordray and Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Mel Watt.
“The Obama zombie regulators are threatening the Trump agenda,” the ad says with pictures of a zombified Cordray and Watt.
“It’s time to end the Obama administration. It’s time to drain the swamp.”
The ad appeared Monday morning in the D.C. region during “Fox and Friends,” one of Trump’s favorite news shows. The president does interviews with the show frequently and often praises it on Twitter.
“There is absolutely no excuse for these Obama regulators to continue working on the public dime,” Rick Manning, the president of Americans for Limited Government, said in a statement.
“It’s time for Trump to say, ‘you’re fired’ to these dangerous, regulation-loving agency heads so that his Administration can continue to keep our economy moving and government out of people’s wallets and pocketbooks.”
