News bites: Major mortgage rules expected Wednesday

The Labor Department issued new rules requiring federal contractors to prove they are taking steps to hire minimum numbers of veterans and disabled workers, according to The Wall Street Journal. 

The tobacco company Lorillard isn’t backing off menthol or electronic cigarettes, despite the likelihood of new regulations on the products, the Journal reports.
