The special master appointed to review materials in the case involving President Trump’s former longtime lawyer Michael Cohen said Thursday that she has completed her review of the materials seized during an FBI raid earlier this year.
Special Master Barbara Jones stated in the filing in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York that she determined 1,972 items she reviewed for the latest report are privileged and that 285 are highly personal, with some of the items falling into both categories.
Three other items were determined to be partially privileged.
Out of the 4,808 items reviewed in this latest round, Jones found that 2,214 were not privileged, and 635 are not highly personal.

Thursday’s filing indicated that Cohen’s attorneys objected to three items being designated as “not privileged,” but wouldn’t contest the designation in court.
Jones stated in the filing that 2,558 of the materials found to not be privileged or highly personal have been handed over to federal prosecutors.
Jones was appointed as a special master in April to review documents and materials seized in an FBI raid of Cohen’s home, office and hotel room to determine which documents are protected under attorney-client privilege.
She has released reports on her findings periodically, and stated in Thursday’s report that she “has concluded her review.”
Cohen is under federal investigation, reportedly for bank fraud and campaign finance violations.
The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that Cohen is also being investigated for tax fraud, with prosecutors trying to determine whether income from his taxi-medallion business was misreported on federal tax returns.
Attorneys for both Cohen and Trump sought to stop federal prosecutors from reviewing the items seized during the FBI raids, before Jones was appointed to examine the materials.
Cohen and Trump have each distanced themselves from the other in recent weeks: Cohen is reportedly open to telling special counsel Robert Mueller that Trump was aware of a 2016 Trump Tower meeting between a Russian lawyer and Donald Trump Jr., which would contradict the president’s previous statements.
Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani said the president did not know about the meeting, and blasted Cohen as a “pathological liar.”
Cohen was also revealed to have made secret recordings of conversations between him and Trump. Jones said last month that federal prosecutors are in possession of 12 of the tapes.
