Kavanaugh to participate in oral arguments remotely
Justice Brett Kavanaugh will participate in oral arguments remotely after testing positive for COVID-19, the Supreme Court said.
In a statement, a Supreme Court spokesperson said Kavanaugh will participate in next week’s oral arguments from his home.
On Monday, the justices will sit for their first in-person arguments since the pandemic began in March.
Kavanaugh tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19 Thursday evening, ahead of an investiture ceremony for Justice Amy Coney Barrett. He was experiencing no symptoms.
Kavanaugh has been fully vaccinated since January, and his wife and daughters are also vaccinated.
All of the other justices tested negative ahead of the investiture, the spokesperson said. The justices are tested regularly, per current Court protocols.
