Friday’s meeting announcements: Task force looks at coral reefs
A number of federal agencies and advisory boards will get together in the next few weeks. Here’s a look at what’s on the government’s calendar:
A federal task force for coral reefs is meeting and holding workshops and field trips Nov. 12-15 in Christiansted, U.S. Virgin Islands.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is meeting in Bethesda, Md., on Nov. 13 to discuss a voluntary recall notice and its fiscal 2014 operating plan.
Also on Nov. 13, the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission is meeting in Washington to discuss discrimination based on national origin.
The U.S. International Trade Commission is also meeting on Nov. 13 to do its second review on low-enriched uranium from France. The commission is also meeting on Nov. 19 to look at imports of electric steel from a handful of countries.
The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, which gives advice to federal agencies, is holding its quarterly meeting on Nov. 14 on Capitol Hill in Washington.
The Postal Service’s board of governors is meeting in Washington for an open session on Nov. 15.
A Federal Transit Administration committee for rail safety is meeting via teleconference on Nov. 21 to review draft letter reports.
On the evening of Nov. 21, the board of directors for the Legal Services Corporation, which provides legal aid to poor Americans, is holding a teleconference. The office’s committee on institutional advancement is meeting on Nov. 22.
A National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities advisory committee is also meeting on Nov. 21.
Finally, a Transportation Department advisory panel on freight will hold its second meeting on Nov. 21.
Regulators for flounder, scup and black sea bass fishing in the Mid-Atlantic are meeting via webinar on Nov. 25. The next day, the federal council for Caribbean fishing is meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
NASA’s science advisory panel is meeting on Dec. 3 and 4 in Washington.
A Commerce Department advisory committee on construction is meeting on Dec. 10 and 11 to give an update on a disaster studies program and an investigation of the 2011 tornado in Joplin, Mo.
The Defense Department’s advisory group for U.S. Strategic Command is also meeting on Dec. 10 and 11 at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska.
On Jan. 14, the Food and Drug Administration is holding a workshop on medical product surveillance.
