High Court supportive of pollution regs

A majority of Supreme Court justices voiced at least a measure of support for the Obama administration’s proposed rules to limit the air pollution that drifts across state lines, Reuters reports.

The High Court heard arguments Tuesday in the case, which has major implications for the president’s push for tougher environmental regulation.

{mosads}Justice Samuel Alito recused himself from the case, leading to speculation that the court could deadlock, according to The Hill’s E2 Wire.

Meanwhile, both Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Anthony Kennedy, members of the court’s conservative wing,, offered some encouragement to the administration, Reuters reports.
