SEC promotes legislative affairs director

White was sworn in to lead the SEC in April.

In the post, Henseler will be the top official in charge of providing assistance to congressional committees and staff. He will also weigh in on legislative issues and help to prepare testimony for SEC officials who testify before Congress.

Henseler was formerly the deputy director of the office and has been with the agency since 2003.

Before that, he spent two years in the office of Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), during which time he worked on the congressional investigation into the former energy company Enron. He also was an associate in a Boston law firm and worked as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
