According to Reuters, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission has subpoenaed a metals warehousing firm, stepping up federal oversight of the commodities. Many of the firms are owned by major banks, and lawmakers and regulators have worried that they could be artificially inflating the cost of some commodities.
