Labor board creates legal counsel office
{mosads}The new division is split into three branches providing advice on ethics, employment and administrative law; focusing on compliance, contempt and special litigation; and processing requests under the Freedom of Information Act.
The shakeup at the board’s office is the first administrative rearrangement since the NLRB has been constituted with a full slate of five members.
For years the board had been operating with at least one seat vacant or posts filled by presidential recess appointments. Last week, four new members were sworn in, filling the board with five Senate-confirmed members for the first time in a decade.
The new division will be led by Associate General Counsel Margery Lieber.
