Thursday’s meeting announcements: FCC gets together

Federal advisory panels of all shapes and sizes will announce their meetings in the Federal Register on Thursday. Here’s a peek into the executive branch’s schedule:

On Thursday, Nov. 14, the Federal Communications Commission is holding a meeting in Washington to talk about the status of universal service reform, expanding a broadband program and its policies and procedures. 

Also on Thursday, the Department of Health and Human Services’s agency for healthcare research and quality is holding a meeting to discuss challenges in research for patients with multiple chronic conditions. 

On Friday, the U.S. International Trade Commission is scheduled to get together to hold a vote on imports of the ingredient MSG from China and Indonesia. 

Workplace safety officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration are meeting on Nov. 19 ahead of upcoming international meeting on transporting dangerous goods and chemicals. 

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is meeting in Bethesda, Md., on Nov. 20 to discuss its fiscal 2014 operating agenda. 

{mosads}Also on Nov. 20, an advisory committee for the National Foundation on the Arts and Humanities is meeting to talk about international exhibitions.

Additionally, the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission is holding a conference call on Nov. 20. 

On Nov. 26 and Dec. 10, the Bureau of Land Management’s council for the Twin Falls, Idaho, region is meeting to talk about conservation of the greater sage-grouse, a type of bird.

An advisory committee on disability compensation for veterans is meeting in Washington on Dec. 2 and 3. 

From Dec. 2 to 6, a council for fishing in the southern Atlantic is meeting in Wilmington, N.C., for a series of workshops. 

Fishing regulators will meet in Silver Spring, Md., on Dec. 4, 5 and 6 to talk about the Endangered Species Act and seafood sustainability.

The Department of Energy’s advisory panel for unconventional resources is meeting in Washington on Dec 4. 

From Dec. 9 to 11, the Department of Veterans Affairs will host a meeting of its advisory committee on minority veterans

On Dec. 11, the National Science Board’s task force on administrative burdens is holding a teleconference to discuss information it received. 

An Energy Department advisory board for the Manhattan Project site in Hanford, Wash., is meeting in the town of Richland on Dec. 11 and 12.
