Wednesday’s meeting announcements: Energy regulators to meet

A whole bunch of federal advisory panels and agency staff will get together through the rest of the year. Here’s a look:

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission staff are planning to attend a regional state committee meeting in New Orleans, La., on Dec. 2. 

The advisory board for Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz will meet in Livermore, Calif., on Dec. 3 to develop advice on research and policy issues. 

Also on Dec. 3, the planning team for scallops in the north Pacific is holding a teleconference to talk about rules in Alaska. 

The Commerce Department’s advisory committee on civil nuclear trade is meeting on Dec. 4. 

On Dec. 4 and 5, the Defense Department’s advisory panel on women in the services will meet in Arlington, Va. 

The Environmental Protection Agency is announcing that it will hold a public hearing on its 2014 requirements for a biofuel program. On Dec. 5 in Arlington, Va., the agency will hear from the public about its requirements under the Renewable Fuel Standard. 

Also on Dec. 5, an Energy Department advisory board is getting together in Piketon, Ohio, to discuss local work plans. 

On the afternoon of Dec. 5, a Health and Human Services advisory panel on childhood vaccines will hold a conference call. 

On Dec. 5 and 6, the Administrative Conference of the U.S. is meeting in Washington talk about ways to cut down on the time that the White House’s regulations office spends reviewing draft rules and other matters. 

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights advisory committee for Hawaii is holding a conference call on Dec. 6 to discuss language access. 

The outreach and education panel of the federal council for Gulf of Mexico fishing is holding a webinar on Dec. 6. 

The Department of Energy’s committee on fossil fuels in ultra-deepwater is meeting in Washington on Dec. 9. 

From Dec. 9 to 16, the management council for northern Pacific fishing is meeting in Anchorage, Alaska. 

On Dec. 9 and 11, the commission’s boards for Oregon and Tennessee will also get together to plan projects and discuss priorities. 

Also on Dec. 9 and 10, the Environmental Protection Agency’s panel for pesticide control officials will get together.

The Federal Aviation Administration’s advisory committee on commercial space transportation is meeting on Dec. 10 and 11 in Washington.

A federal council on migrant health is also meeting on Dec. 10 and 11. 

On Dec. 11, a Health and Human Services Department advisory board on drug testing will host a web conference to talk about changes to mandatory guidelines for federal workplace drug testing. 

A federal panel on infectious diseases is meeting in Atlanta, Ga., on Dec. 11 and 12. 

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisory board on radiation and worker health is meeting via conference call on Dec. 17. 

The Energy Department’s panel on nuclear science is meeting in Gaithersburg, Md., on Dec. 19. 

On Dec. 19 and 20, the Food and Drug Administration is holding a public workshop in Washington on regulations for medical devices that treat obesity and metabolic disease. 

A Bureau of Land Management committee for resources in southeast Oregon will get together on Jan. 13 and 14, though the location and agenda are still yet to be announced.
