Bush says he’d repeal every Obama regulation

During the GOP’s fourth presidential debate Tuesday, candidate Jeb Bush called for the repeal of every regulation the Obama administration has approved or is considering.

“On the regulatory side, I think we need to repeal every rule that Barack Obama has in terms of work in progress, every one of them, and start over,” Bush said to cheers.

{mosads}He argued the repeal would help reach his goal of four percent economic growth.

“We should repeal the rules because the economic costs of this far exceed the social benefit,” Bush added. “If we are serious about being serious about high growth, we have to recognize that small businesses right now, more of them are closing than are being set up.

The former Florida governor added that regulations already in existence, including Internet regulation, should be repealed, and needled Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton for giving Obama’s polices an “A” grade.

“Really? One in 10 people right now aren’t working or have given up all together. … That’s not an ‘A.’”

Before making the comments, Bush pushed back at Ohio Gov. John Kasich for trying to step in on his first question.

“I had four minutes last debate, I want to get my question right now,” Bush said when Kasich, another GOP presidential candidate, tried to interrupt Fox Business Network moderator Maria Bartiromo as she asked him a question. 

Bush’s minimal screen time during last month’s CNBC debate contributed to the panning of his performance in that debate, and he was not among the first four candidates questioned to start Tuesday’s debate.
