National coalitions are pushing lawmakers to restore the Voting Rights Act, end big money in politics and hold a hearing and an up-or-down vote on President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland.
{mosads}Democracy Spring and Democracy Awakening, coalitions made up of 120 and 230 organizations respectively, will mobilize this weekend to push for changes on Capitol Hill.
On Saturday, Democracy Spring will rally at Independence Mall and march over the course of 10 days on a route to Washington, D.C., for a rally on Sunday, April 10. Supporters will then spend the following week staging sit-in protests to pressure legislators to take action.
Democracy Awakening will hold a family-friendly rally on Sunday at the U.S. Capitol.
