Thursday’s meeting announcements: Legal aid committee meets

{mosads}The Commission on Civil Rights advisory committee for West Virginia is meeting Sept. 17 in Charleston, W.Va., to discuss potential projects. 

The Securities and Exchange Commission’s advisory committee on small businesses is also holding a meeting Sept. 17. 

Also Sept. 17, the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board, which reports to the Department of Commerce, is meeting to discuss business climate, art investment and other issues. 

On Sept. 18, the Florida advisory committee for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is meeting in Miami to discuss voting rights issues. 

The Naval Academy’s board of visitors will meet Sept. 30 to review morale, discipline, curriculum and fiscal issues at the institution. 

The Commission on Civil Rights panel for New Jersey is meeting in Newark, N.J., Sept. 23. 

The Federal Aviation Administration’s committee on commercial space transportation is holding a teleconference to develop safety guidelines Sept. 24 and meeting to discuss operations and policy Oct. 9 and 10. 

On Sept. 24 and 25, the Defense Department’s panel on responses to sexual assault crimes is meeting in Arlington, Va., to discuss the need to create independent review systems called for by the National Defense Authorization Act. 

The Environmental Protection Agency is holding a workshop on air quality standards in Research Triangle Park, N.C., from Oct. 1 to 3. 

The National Cancer Institute’s advisory committee on clinical trials and translational research is meeting in Bethesda, Md., Nov. 6.
