Federal contracting:

The Interior Department is finalizing rules to implement the Buy Indian Act, which allows it to set aside procurement contracts for businesses owned and controlled by Native Americans. 

Defense:

The Defense Department is assigning procedures and responsibilities for implementing a portion of the Post-9/11 GI Bill that provides supplemental education benefits. 

The department also wants to allow some members of its TRICARE healthcare system to be exempt from future enrollment fees.

Healthcare:

The Department of Health and Human Services is correcting “inadvertent errors and omissions” in rules on healthcare privacy. 

Education:

The Education Department will prioritize disability research grants that focus on promoting healthy aging for people with long-term physical disabilities under a rehabilitation research program. 

Environment and energy:

The Environmental Protection Agency wants to strengthen controls on pollution discharges from some steam electric power plants. 

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is fixing “miscellaneous corrections” in its rules. 

Communications:

The Federal Communications Commission has received a petition to revise its rules on interactions between aircraft and satellites.
