Consumer products:

The Energy Department is issuing new standards for microwave ovens when in standby and off modes. 


Fishing:

South Atlantic fishing for amberjack and other fish will be halted for the rest of the year under a new rule from the National Marine Fisheries Service. 

The agency is also revising reports for a crab program, setting yearly regulations for catching sardines in the Pacific and changing the limits of snapper and grouper that can be caught in the South Atlantic. 

Finally, the fishing regulator is proposing changes to its rules for gear used off the coast of Alaska. 


Transportation:
A 2011 rule on fuel efficiency is being updated to eliminate some reporting requirements and reduce minor differences between programs under the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. 

The Federal Highway Administration is announcing that it is not splitting into two a manual for public traffic control, as it had considered in January. 


Environment:
The EPA is setting a tolerance for residues of the insecticide fenpyroximate on fruit and vegetables.
