Lasers:
Regulations on laser products should be updated to more closely resemble international standards, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Current performance standards for the products were last updated in 1985, based on what the agency calls “an outdated understanding of photo biological science,” and are no longer relevant.
Disposal sites:
The Environmental Protection Agency is extending the public comment period for a proposal to designate a Louisiana region as a permanent site for disposing ocean dredged material.
Park service:
The National Park Service is adjusting its regulations for demonstrations and the distribution of fliers and other printed material on national parks.
Nuclear:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is publishing three draft regulatory guides and proposing to amend the references in its rules to incorporate the new guides.
