New regs for Friday: Fair housing

“The benefit of this approach is that these priorities and goals will then better inform program participant’s strategies and actions by improving the integration of the assessment of fair housing through enhanced coordination with current planning exercises,” the agency said in its proposal.

Satellites:

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) wants the public to weigh in on whether there is anti-competitive behavior in the satellite industry. 

The agency is asking for public comments about whether satellite operators are preventing competition, especially by hoarding satellite locations and frequencies. The public notice is being made after allegations were made to the FCC that some companies were preventing others’ access to the market.

Infant food:
The Food and Drug Administration has received a petition from the public to set regulations for the food additive carrageenan in infant formula. 

Endangered species:

The Fish and Wildlife Service is reopening its comment period for the Gunnison sage-grouse, a type of chicken-like bird, and two types of frogs as endangered species. 

Copyright: 
The Copyright Royalty Board is proposing to set rates and terms for businesses to use streaming and other recording services from 2014 through 2018. 

Pesticides:

The Environmental Protection Agency has received petitions to set or modify limits on the amount of residue allowed for various pesticides and other chemicals. 

Fishing:

The National Marine Fisheries Service is issuing new guidelines on scientific information that it believes will more clearly explain what constitutes the best available information for conservation efforts. 

The agency is also proposing to change its rules for catching groundfish in the Pacific.
