It was purely by luck that I was in New York City last March when, completely out of the blue, a chip fell off the back of one of my front teeth. I’ve always had strong, healthy teeth, so I suppose I’d been taking them for granted. But I promise you, that experience was a real wake-up call. Because I am a long-term traveler, and don’t usually spend more than four to six weeks in the United States, chances were actually better that this could have happened in a country where I didn’t speak the language. It was this thought that eventually brought me to choose the AquaSonic Black Series Toothbrush & Travel Case With 8 Dupont Brush Heads.
Good news and bad news
The reason I was in New York in the first place was that it was as close as I could get to Europe while I waited for a country, any country, to allow me to enter. Covid had cut my travels short and I was impatient to resume them. In the meantime, I had to search the Internet for a reasonably priced dentist who could fix my tooth as soon as possible.
Thank goodness the chip was just from the back of the tooth, so it didn’t even show in front. But it had left the tooth so thin that I knew the rest was just waiting to break if it didn’t get fixed quickly. In my online research, I found out that there are special fillings for front teeth that are completely unnoticeable, and I was very happy with the job my dentist did…until the filling fell out the next day. Now I was really spooked, but the dentist got me in almost immediately to fix it and that repair has held up.
Still, I am determined to keep my teeth as healthy as I can from now on, since this is definitely not an experience I want to repeat.
Why I’m glad I chose the AquaSonic Toothbrush
I am constantly researching products that can lighten my luggage or help keep me organized. So my first instinct when disaster hits is to fire up my browser and start looking for helpful info.
The first thing I searched for when my tooth chipped was whether it could be fixed to look like new. Once I found out about the special fillings, I searched for an affordable dentist within a reasonable distance. After I made my appointment, I started researching ways to keep my teeth healthy and strong. And that’s when I began to learn more about electric toothbrushes.
Electric toothbrushes are better than manual ones, but some are better than others.
I’d never used an electric toothbrush before, so I was starting from scratch, and the first thing I wanted to know was if they were objectively better than regular toothbrushes. It didn’t take long to find out that the answer was a resounding “Yes!”. DentalHealth.org explains:
“Electric toothbrushes clean teeth and gums much better than a manual toothbrush, according to the findings of a new study. Scientists found that people who use an electric toothbrush have healthier gums, less tooth decay and also keep their teeth for longer, compared with those who use a manual toothbrush.”
That was more than good enough for me. So I started researching various brands and models of electric toothbrushes and made a list of all the features I wanted. The AquaSonic was the only one I found that met all of my criteria. First on the list was effectiveness, and not only has it been clinically proven to reduce plaque by over ten times better than a manual toothbrush, it is even three times better than older models of electric toothbrushes.
The AquaSonic electric toothbrush improves gum health.
The AquaSonic is approved by the American Dental Association and is guaranteed to be safe, as well as effective. But what really impressed me was that, in as little as one week, it could also improve gum health. It basically flosses as you brush, creating little micro-bubbles to clean between teeth and along your gum lines. It’s possible to improve gum health by 100%, and that seems to me like a critical factor in keeping my teeth healthy.
AquaSonic electric toothbrushes whiten teeth in two weeks.
I would have been perfectly happy with just less plaque and healthier gums. While whiter teeth aren’t necessarily a matter of health, it’s nice to be able to have them with no extra effort. It’s the AquaSonic’s 40,000 VPM that makes it possible to dissolve stains on your teeth, simultaneously whitening them as you brush.
Customized settings make brushing so much more pleasant.
The AquaSonic Black Series offers four modes of brushing. Naturally, you can choose cleaning or whitening. But there is also a soft mode if your teeth or gums are feeling particularly sensitive for any reason. But the massage mode seems like the height of luxury for teeth and gums care.
The AquaSonic Black Series is travel-friendly.
Okay, so maybe this is more important for me than most people, but many folks will certainly be taking at least short trips once the world returns to normal. In any case, I love that the AquaSonic comes with a compact travel case. And while I can’t actually leave the charger at home as the company suggests, I do appreciate that a single charge can last up to 30 days.
I travel alone, so there are no others I need to share my toothbrush heads with. And they last up to two and a half years, so I probably don’t need eight of them. But I do like being able to bring a couple of extras with me and having even more to keep in reserve, so I’m glad the company is generous with them.
All in all, I couldn’t be happier with this particular AquaSonic product and I genuinely can’t think of anything else I could want from an electric toothbrush. So I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a new electric toothbrush or is determined to keep their teeth and gums as healthy as possible.
