Trump in Iowa attempts to pull support from GOP rivals: Watch live
Former President Trump is scheduled to hold a campaign rally in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Saturday — just two months before the caucuses will officially spark the 2024 primary season into action.
Trump remains the front-runner in the GOP race, despite mounting legal woes — including two cases centered on his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election results.
There have been three major attempts to kick Trump off of the ballot in states around the country under the 14th Amendment: Colorado, Minnesota and Michigan.
A judge ruled in the Colorado case on Friday that while she believes the former president “incited” the insurrection, the language in the law doesn’t seem to apply to the president.
In Minnesota, the state Supreme Court threw out a similar argument. In Michigan, a lower court argued that the law doesn’t apply to primary elections. The Michigan case has been appealed to the state Supreme Court.
The event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EST.
