President Biden is slated to deliver remarks Friday afternoon on the first round of hostages released by the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
Israeli and Thai nationals were among the captives released by Hamas on Friday. The Israeli military said Israeli hostages were headed home under protection from Israeli soldiers.
The hostages were released on the first day of a four-day truce between Israel and Hamas that brought a temporary halt to fighting.
Biden’s remarks are scheduled to begin at 1:45 p.m. EST.
