Former President Trump, the current GOP front-runner in the race for the White House, is slated to make a campaign stop in Richmond, Va., Saturday, to bring in support from the state ahead of its Super Tuesday primary.
Trump leads his only remaining primary challenger, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, in Virginia by more than 60 points — 77.5 percent to 17.2 percent — according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index.
The former president, who also spoke at a “Get Out the Vote” rally in Greensboro, N.C., earlier Saturday, is likely reeling from wins in the Missouri caucuses and Michigan GOP convention.
More than a dozen states, including Virginia and North Carolina, will hold presidential nominating contests on Super Tuesday — just a few days away on March 5 — a critical milestone in the 2024 race.
Trump is expected to speak in Virginia 6 p.m. EST.
