Watch: Biden speaks at D-Day Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony

In observance of the 80th anniversary of D-Day, President Biden delivered an address from near the shores of Normandy. It was on that region’s beaches, along its cliffs and in its fields, that Allied troops began the liberation of France from Nazi occupation on June 6, 1944.

Against the historic backdrop, Biden’s visit is also part of his effort to reaffirm U.S. leadership in NATO in its commitment to the defense of Ukraine.

The ceremony at Normandy is scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. EDT (US).
