Former President Trump visited La Crosse, Wis., Thursday, where he delivered remarks during a town hall.
Thursday’s event was moderated by former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (I-Hawaii), who endorsed the former president earlier this week during a campaign event in Detroit. Gabbard, who ran against President Biden and Vice President Harris in 2020 before leaving the Democratic Party, was recently added to Trump’s transition team.
The town hall marks the former president’s first campaign visit to the Badger State since he accepted the GOP nomination last month at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. The convention ended just days before Biden announced he was dropping out of the race and endorsing Harris.
Before Biden’s decision to step aside, Trump was leading the president by 1.5 points in the state — 46.9 percent to 45.4 percent. The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s aggregate of polls shows Harris on top in Wisconsin, garnering 49.6 percent support to her GOP rival’s 46.5 percent.
