Former President Trump will make a stop in the key swing state of North Carolina Saturday afternoon, hosting a rally focused on the economy and jobs.

In a press release, Trump’s campaign blasted his Democratic rival, Vice President Harris, tying her election bid to “disastrous policies” put in place under the Biden administration.

“Under Kamala Harris, the American Dream is slipping away and it’s hardworking North Carolinians who are paying the price,” the campaign wrote. “Americans still overwhelmingly want what generations before them had—a home to call their own, the ability to raise a family, and a comfortable retirement. But Kamala Harris, with her disastrous policies, is singlehandedly destroying these aspirations.”

The event also comes amid criticism from Democrats over Trump’s support for North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson (R) after a scathing CNN report was released about the gubernatorial candidate. Robinson will not attend the rally Saturday.

The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index shows Trump with a slight lead over Harris in the Tar Heel State with 48.4 percent support to her 47.9 percent.

Trump’s remarks in Wilmington, N.C., are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EDT.
