Former President Trump took his economic message to voters Tuesday afternoon in the increasingly competitive state of Georgia.
Speaking at a rally in Savannah, Ga., the GOP presidential nominee was expected to tout his plans for tax reform, including $8 trillion in proposed cuts over 10 years.
Some of his proposals, such as exempting tipped wages from taxes, have seen support both from Republicans and Democrats, including his opponent Vice President Harris. Other ideas the former president has laid out, such as increasing tariffs, are being met with more skepticism because of the concern that they could spike consumer prices.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index in the Peach State shows Trump leading Harris by 1.1 points — 48.3 percent to 47.2 percent.
Trump was slated to speak at 1 p.m. EDT.
