New York City Mayor Eric Adams will give remarks Thursday afternoon, a day after he was indicted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York on campaign contribution charges.
He faces five counts, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national and bribery.
The indictment, unsealed Thursday, follows a series of investigations by federal authorities into Adams and a number of his associates. The charges stem from allegations that he accepted bribes and illegal campaign contributions from foreign source.
Adams is expected to speak at 10:50 a.m. EDT.
