Watch live: Trump campaigns in Wisconsin amid close race

Former President Trump is holding a campaign rally in the key battleground state of Wisconsin Saturday, as the race for the White House remains close less than six weeks until Election Day.

The event in Prairie du Chien, Wis. — nearly two hours outside of Madison — was reportedly planned to be outside, but due to Secret Service staffing concerns, it was moved indoors. The decision comes after the former president faced two assassination attempts, one at his golf course in Florida earlier this month and one at a rally in Pennsylvania in July, where a bullet grazed his ear.

The contest between Trump and Vice President Harris in the Badger State is tight, according to recent polling. A new survey from The New York Times/Siena Saturday shows Harris in the lead by 2 points, garnering 49 percent support to the former president’s 47 percent. But, that lead was within the margin of error.

The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index shows similar results in the critical swing state, with Harris ahead with 49.8 percent support to Trump’s 47.8 percent.

His remarks are scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. EDT.
