Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance (Ohio) campaigned in battleground Michigan Wednesday, just a day after he took the debate stage against his Democratic opponent Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
Vance received positive reviews for his debate performance Tuesday night, with pundits describing him as “sharp” and offering a “commanding performance.” Former President Trump, his running mate, wrote in one post following the forum that “JD crushed it!”
The Ohio Republican held a separate rally in the suburbs of Detroit earlier Wednesday.
Michigan is considered a critical swing state ahead of the election, now just under a month away. The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s aggregate of polls shows Vice President Harris with a razor-thin edge over Trump in the state — bringing in 48.4 percent support compared to the former president’s 47.9 percent.
Vance wass expected to give remarks in Marne, Mich., at 5:30 p.m. EDT.
