Watch live: Harris campaigns in swing state Michigan

Vice President Harris will travel to the Great Lakes State on Friday, delivering remarks to voters from Detroit.

Her visit to battleground Michigan, known by many as the birthplace of organized labor, comes a day after the International Longshoremen’s Association union and the U.S. Maritime Alliance, an association of companies that operate East and Gulf Coast ports, reached a tentative agreement to end a two-day strike.

Harris, like President Biden, has made supporting unions a central part of her campaign. The vice president has received endorsements from top labor groups, including the American Federation of Teachers, the 700,000-member Communications Workers of America and the AFL-CIO.

The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s aggregate of polls shows Harris and her GOP opponent former President Trump neck and neck in Michigan. The vice president holds a razor-thin lead with 48.3 percent support to Trump’s 48.1 percent.

The vice president will also campaign in Flint, Mich., Friday evening.

Harris is expected to give remarks at 1:50 p.m. EDT.
