Watch live: Trump rallies voters in Colorado city he called ‘war zone’

Former President Trump is making a campaign stop in Aurora, Colo., Friday afternoon — just weeks after he said the city was becoming a “war zone.”

The campaign reupped the claim in a press release announcing the event earlier this week, citing what Trump described as an influx of violent Venezuelan prison gang members from Tren de Aragua moving into the area.

The former president has a history of attacking the Denver suburb. During the presidential debate against Vice President Harris last month, Trump brought up conspiracy theories around gang activity in the city. He has also levied attacks against Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) while on the campaign trail.

Trump lost the Centennial State to President Biden in 2020, who won with more than 55 percent of the vote. Before he dropped out of the 2024 race, Biden was leading the former president by nearly 10 points, according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index.

His remarks are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. EDT.
