Former President Trump is holding a campaign event Friday evening in Detroit, a week after he criticized the city during his last visit.
Trump is expected to blast his Democratic rival, Vice President Harris, during remarks focused on the economy — primarily inflation, jobs and the auto industry, according to the campaign.
Harris’s campaign attacked Trump after his appearance in the Motor City last week.
“Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she’s your president,” Trump said of Harris at the time. “You’re going to have a mess on your hands.”
The vice president, who is also campaigning in the battleground state on Friday, responded with an ad attacking the GOP nominee.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s aggregate of polls shows Trump with a narrow lead over Harris in the Great Lakes State — 48.8 percent to 48.1 percent.
Trump’s remarks are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. EDT.
